Has anyone come across a method of bypassing MailSecurity on a per session basis? For example, we have denied all MS Office files from leaving via Email yet there may be the odd exception when someone needs to send a file pending amendments.

MailEssentials would allow you to, say put a word in teh subject which would ignore the whole message. Something simialr for MS would be what i'm after?

Any ideas chaps?

In thh meantime, i've instructed the user to save the file as an RTF (which is not a blocked extension) allowing it to pass. Clearly this would work for Word, but i'm hoping for a general solution via MS as this won't work for a number of other file types (.xls say)

Pop,

There is not a whitelist feature in GFI MailSecurity as it could cause quite a bit of problems if someone exploited the list and sent in an infected file.

Understood, and quite agree. However is there no likelihood of a bypass feature if not already implemented?

Pop,

I can't speak for what may come in the future for GFI MailSecurity.  I can submit this as a feature request for you if you would like.  This does not mean the feature would be added but the development teams do look at the requests when deciding on future versions of our products.
