Hi all,

did anybody see something like this? I found in my Attachment Checking log records stating that several DOC files were deleted, after a VIP user reported that some messages with Word documents attached were never received.

Thanks,

Zoran

Hi Zoran,

As discussed via e-mail, you need to check the GFI Kbase article: http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID001922

Isn't is possible to disable the check that everything that cleams to be something else is passed through without disabling the total attachment checking module?

It is almost impossible to change the registry for everyting what is cleamed to be something else.

I have a similair problem with xls documents. We are not blocking macro's or xls documents yet certain ones just won't come through. The log message I recieve is as follows:

"4/14/2005 10:41:02 AM","<emailaddress>","Attachment Checking","Deleted","File ""svc04442005.xls"" triggered rule ""New Attachment Checking Rule"".","svc04442005.xls"

After reading the above linked page, this problem sounds different from the doc/rtf thing. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Brahma: Temporarily set the 'New Attachment checking rule' to quarantine attachments, rather then delete them.

Wait until this issue is reproduced and check details of the quarantined item in the moderator client. From there check the exact reason why the mail was blocked and let me know.

Tommy, I sent you an e-mail regarding this issue.
