Allowing nofilename in Attachment Checker - 26.Apr.2007 5:57:33 AM

Hi,

I'm using version 9 of Mail Security (Build 20060313).

In the attachment checking, we're getting some mail where pictures attached in a signature come back without its attachment extension (usually jpg). I've tried allowing the nofilename extension in our attachment whitelist but mail is still getting trapped with no filenames.

The error that comes up is that it fits the wildcard string ("") but i've even tried adding "" to the whitelist and it hasn't stopped the amount of mail getting trapped.

I've only found one other topic about nofilename attachments but that didn't answer my question, does anyone know anything about this and can they help?

Cheers,
Phill

A workaround was used in this issue, were only a specific list of file extensions were defined to be blocked.

Thank you

We have the same issue but unfortunately I cannot accept the workaround as we require stricter controls on our email traffic.

Is there any other option apart from manually approving email identified as having attachments with no file name?

Currently we have one rule deleting email by attachment extension and another permitting by extension and quarantining all others. We used to have one rule to block by attachment extension but moved to the 2 rules to allow Office 2007 files.

We are running version: 10 build: 20080404, many thanks, Simon
