[WEBMON] New GfiWebMonitor3 beta soon - 24.Nov.2004 8:51:00 AM

Sorry everybody for delay and for not responding
but i was busy with new version of GfiWebMonitor3
(Cobion category database features had to be replaced due to license dis-agreements)

I will post next week new beta download link on this forum.
New features are
self updating ISA Destination Set listing misbehaved sites hosting Spyware/Malware/Adware/Phishing/Virus content or content which can endanger security of your local network. (currently ~9500 entries)
Updates are done incrementically so if there is new SPyware site update process will transfer only this new site (~1400bytes)

Another new feature is SiteJudge script which allows you to judge category of newly accessed web site by your(editable)script.
Script checks web indexing web sites(usually search engines yahoo...) to "judge" category of that site.
Default checked category is Adult. But you can create another categories and their self updated ISA destination Sets as well.

New gfiWebMOnitor integrates more into ISA server creating blocking directly by ISA allowing you to schedule and apply restriction based on your need by ISA interface which you are already familiar with .

If I get it right also following your email a while ago, having download security is mandatory for this. Right?

It took longer as i had to filter out major advertising companies from spyware database...
now it seems ok ... build for beta testers is on the way.

>Are we going to see a combo price for WM and DS >like MS and ME?

I can not comment on that right now.
I can only say that there will be still freeware ISA monitoring as you saw it till now.

Rest of your question will be answered in January 2005.

Hi David,
I was reading through this forum and its occured to me that you are the only savior out here. Perhaps you can help me with my problem.
I have recently installed ISA2004 on Win2K3 Std Edition. This is the firewall for my LAN. I had two unsuccessful attempts to install webmonitor and webmonitor2. The http://webmonitor.isa doesnt seem to open up. I get a page cannot be displayed error. I hve gone thru the installation process over and over but i still cannot get it working. There must be an easier way of getting this working. My other question is do I need an sql server installed on this machine??? Do I have to set up a virtual website or something like that?? I have heard so much about web monitor, if only I could get it to work. Please help me I am really desperate to get this working on my firewall...
Regards
Sach

New beta will be tested only with 3 testers because new featurs are planned and we dont want to release beta public wihtout all the features.

If anybody want to be beta tester of new web monitor please send me email to davidf@gfi.com

Build is ready

regards DavidF

P.S>: Sach .. you have to query http://monitor.isa not webmonitor.isa
+ make sure u use proxy where u installed web monitor.

Autoupdating of Spyware/Malware ISA destination set will not be showing "database is up to date"
till 3.1.2005. It will show error instead
This is due connection restricion on our data server which we found out today.
