I can not get the reports to export when scheduled. I can run reports manually, but under the schedule they fail. Can they be on a share or must they be local? Are there any specific permissions that need to be applied to allow the reports to create in a folder?

Yes reports can also be saved to remote (shared) locations, however in order to do this the GFI ReportCenter service must have write access to the shared folder. To force the scheduler service to run under a particular account (having write access) you can follow these steps: 1) Run services.msc and locate the GFI ReportCenter 3.5 service. 2) Right click on the service and choose Properties. 3) In the Log On tab insert the account credentials of an account which has write access (or administrative rights) on that folder 4) Click Apply + OK and restart the service. If that does not solve your problem, please send us a screenshot showing any errors that you might be getting, so that we can analyze your problem better.

OK, I have changed the service account logon to an admin equivalent account and I can now generate exported scheduled reports, HOWEVER, only to local c:, fails on network share. I have checked the Share and Security permissions and it has Full control everywhere. also, some reports that I have set to run for last seven days on a given date, run repeatedly if I ask them to generate now. It just keeps on generating over and over again. I would expect it to do one and then reschedule for a week later (frequency set to every 1 weeks)

We are currently investigating the issue regarding weekly/monthly scheduled reports that are generated multiple times. Until this issue is fixed you can use a simple workaround whereas instead of using the weekly/monthly option you can schedule the report every 168/720 hours, which functionally would not make any difference. Your other problem where reports are failing to be saved to a network share seems to be related to windows permissions. Please check out the following: 1) Make sure that the administrative account that your Service is running under DOES have access to the shared folder. One simple way to check this is by logging on to windows using this account and attempting to access the network share. If it has access it should NOT ask you for credentials after it connects. 2) You did not specify what operating system you are using, but in the case of Windows Server 2003 make sure that both NTFS and share permissions are set to allow access to the shared folder. To try it out I suggest you set share permissions to allow full access to all, and then use your NTFS permissions to allow full access to the admin account being used by GFI ReportCenter Service. If after confiming the above you still don't get it to work then please send us your debug logs so we can analyze the problem better. You can do this by using the troubleshooter provided with your installation as follows: (1) Run the troubleshooter application "Start > Programs > GFI ReportCenter > ReportCenter > troubleshooter" (2) Browse to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\GFI\ReportCenter\Framework v3.5\support" folder. (3) Zip the contents of this folder and send them to us by Email on feedbackesm@gfi.com. Also include the platforms you are running and the methods you are using to setup your shared folders (i.e. permissions & accounts used). Thanks !
