Hi,

I've just finished setting up an eval copy of MailArchiver and am having some difficulties with the EEwiz program to import old email into the database.

I've been able to import the administrator's mailbox into the archive and that seems fine when i check through the web interface, however, when i try to run the EEwiz program to import email from different mailboxes i get the "An error occurred while enumerating folders" dialog box after selecting the user's mailbox. I've running EEwiz on the server which has MailArchiver present (and hence i dont have to specify the server name or the login credentials), but i still get the error. I've also tried it on a client PC (specifying both the FQDN of the server and the NetBIOS name, as well as trying different combinations of domain\username and FQDN\username and just username for authentication) but i get the same error.

I am able to browse through the public folder listing, however the administrator account is not an owner and therefore cannot extract any of the email from it.

Some details about the setup: Server is a SBS2003 server, Win 2k3 is SP1 and Exchange is SP2. Desktop PC is XP SP2 with Office 2k3 SP1. The error occurs regardless of whether or not SSL is checked. The user being used to access all the mailboxes is the administrator account. The last lines of the EEWiz log are:

In that link, Technical Information:

"If the wizard is run on the Microsoft Exchange machine directly, it does not need the Internet Publishing Provider (IPP), since it uses the Microsoft Exchange OLE DB provider directly. So in this scenario the wizard functions correctly." This is *not* the case in my situation.

I've tried the EEWiz on the *actual* exchange server and still no joy. The desktop PC that i am attempting the EEWiz execution on has Office 2003 and I have confirmed that it has the Office 2003 Web Components as a part of the installation. Still no joy.

Any other suggestions?

ZBFenwick,

Have you tried entering the full email address for the mailbox you are trying to use the wizard on? I had the exact same error running eewiz on the exchange server that contained the mailbox using domain\username. By using the full email address e.g. firstname.lastname@domain.com I got the wizard to work every time (as long as it is run on the server that contains the mailbox).

Hi,

Just to double check.

Are you using an account that has permissions to extract mail from mailboxes?

Make sure that the user is a member of the Exchange Admins group. So for example make yourself a member of the Exchange Admins group, then right-click Eewiz and choose run as, and type in your own credentials. Then try to extract the emails that way

I'm getting exactly the same problem.
I have paid my fee and have the system installed however - so you owe me!
I am using Exchange Server 2003 SP1 as well and the GFI product is installed on the same machine.
I too can migrate the Administrator account but get the same message when trying to archive any other user account.
One assumes we have a "permissions" issue here but the Administrator account has administrator rights over everything, so I am a little bemused.
There is no Exchange Admins group (so it would seem) in Exchange 2003.
Please GFI give this your urgent attention!

Hi Martin

Are you sure that Administrator has access to all mailboxes? By default he does not! Try to access each mailbox using OWA with Administartor account as following: http://myserver/exchange/mailbox

Hi,

I am assuming that you are running the wizard and extracting directly fom Exchange?

Have you tried running the wizard on an extracted pst file?

The administrator does not neccessarily have access to other peoples mailboxes.

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=867503 NB: You should find that the mailbox store you are trying to extract mail from is probably mounted anyway (Step 1 in the article)

Have you had a look at this link, and tried running the Eewiz as a member of the new group
